MEMBER ALERT: Phishing Scam Targeting ADA/TDA Membership Renewals

Oct 20, 2025

We need all members to be on high alert. The American Dental Association (ADA) has reported an active phishing scam targeting members for renewal.

How the Scam Works

Scammers are sending fraudulent emails claiming your membership is at risk of being suspended. The email will urgently demand that you click a link to update your information or payment.

DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS in these suspicious emails!

This is an attempt by scammers to steal your personal or financial information.

How to Protect Yourself & Renew Safely

Your security is our top priority. Please follow these steps to protect your information:

  1. Always Renew Directly: The safest way to renew your membership is to go directly to the official website. Manually type in the web address for your ADA, TDA, or local component membership portal to log in.

  2. Verify by Phone: If you receive an email (or any other communication) stating your credit card has expired, you can verify it by phone. TDA members are welcome to call our Membership Manager at 512-443-3675, ext. 137. You can update your information securely over the phone with a trusted staff member.

Stay vigilant and always be cautious of unsolicited emails that demand immediate action.
