Texas Dental Association: Helping Every Member Succeed

TDA connects dentists with each other, with patients, and with resources for life and career. TDA is a professional membership organization for dentists, and the 3rd largest state dental association in the US. The TDA is part of a tripartite affiliation with the American Dental Association at the national level, and component societies at the local level. The Association has more than 9,200 members, and is composed of 26 local component dental societies, grouped into 4 divisions across Texas.

WHO Statements about Dental Care

Sep 9, 2020
On August 3, 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO) issued a statement recommending that individuals delay non-emergency dental care due to COVID-19. TDA disagrees with the WHO’s recommendation and is in communication with the American Dental Association (ADA) as it encourages the WHO to change its position. The ADA responded to the WHO’s statement.

Both the TDA and ADA strongly believe that dental care is absolutely essential health care for whole-body health and illness prevention. Here in Texas, TDA’s advocacy resulted in Governor Greg Abbott allowing dentists to reopen their dental practices on May 1, 2020, and every day, thousands of Texans safely visit their dentist.
