Automatic Texas Prescription Monitoring Program Registration

On January 11, 2018, the Texas State Board of Pharmacy sent an email to all Texas dentists notifying them that a Texas Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) account had automatically been setup and they needed to follow the provided link to complete the registration process.

Since the email went out, TDA’s central office received numerous inquiries as to whether it was authentic. TDA can confirm that the email is not spam and is a legitimate email from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Dentists needing to complete their PMP account registration can follow the instructions below to create an account. Texas State Board of Dental Examiners regulations require dentists to conduct at least one self-query a year through the PMP.

Instructions to Create a Prescription Monitoring Program Account

Dentists who do not already have a Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) account need to click on the link received in the email from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy at “no-reply@sbcglobal.net” on January 11, 2018. This will take you to the PMP password reset screen to complete the following steps:

1. From the password reset screen, type in the same email address at which you received the pharmacy board’s email on January 11, 2018.

2. Click on “Request Password Reset.” This will send a new link to your email.

3. Open the email and click on the new link. The new link will take you to the PMP AWARxE browser with fields to enter a password and confirm it. The password must contain at least 8 characters, including 1 capital letter and 1 special character, such as !@#$. You must already have a Drug Enforcement Registration to create a PMP account.

If you have any questions concerning your registration, please contact the PMP at texaspmp@pharmacy.texas.gov or 512-305-8050.
